#WeAreTheDestroyers part6

So now the destroying to create is done, it’s time that the campaign for the Nike destroyer jacket is taken to a mainstream level. Unique (sports) people talking about their drive. A bit boring and disappointing after a promising prologue. The campaign now evolved to ‘more than a game changer’.

And more info comming in via Twitter about Nike’s #wearethedestroyers campaign. Yesterday a shop has been opened in Hong Kong. Nike Sportswear worked with Joel Chu to “destroy and create” a new look for the retail space that is inspired by the style and culture of basketball, the result is a “massive constructin of a warped and distorted ball court”. Online shopping on YouTube

YouTube is working hard on creating business models around their brand and network. After years of high promising potential they’re coming up with real money solutions. British fashion brand FCUK (French Connection) uses a YouTube channel, under the name Youtique, as a webshop. And, as far as I know, it’s the first in it’s kind on YouTube so far.
Stylist Louise Roe comse with dressing solutions for different occasions and after the advise you can click specific peaces of clothing that will lead you to the web shop where you can actualy buy it. With this FCUK uses the enormous network of YouTube to lead traffic to their webshop. Verry smart and good to see experiments like these. I’m wondering what FCUK paid YouTube for this campaign.

(A click on this video won’t bring you to the FCUK  webshop though ;-)

Fashionable packaging design #7

Bottled water brand Evian collaborated again with a fashion industry icon in creating their special edition bottle. In the past they’ve worked with Christian Lacroix, Jean-Paul Gaultier, and Paul Smith. This year it’s with Japanese fashion designer Issey Miyake. The handwriting, the pleating, what Issey Miyake is famous for, can be reconized in the flowers on the bottle. A pure bottle, blooming with both optimism and freshness, as they claim.

The bottle will exist in 2 versions, one of them will be sold exclusively in the Issey Miyake shopsbe. Check for more details the Issey Miyake – Evian website.

Fashionable packaging design #6

OK. I grew up in the second wave of punkrock. By that time the Sex Pistols did no longer exist. Sid Vicious had already died, but we enjoyed the music. Although a little suspicious, because of how commercial it had gotten. (or should I say how commercial it always had been?).
Now, after about 2500 revivals and anniversary tours to cash in on old succes, they created Sex Pistols The Perfume. Although it might be the ultimate sell out of Punk Rock I can smile about concept. They did it again; annoying a lot of people who still believe Punk Rock is rebellious way of live and not a (fashionable) commercial product.

Just for old time sake:

Puma's Clever Little Bag

Puma collaborated with Ives Behar’s fuse project to design ‘the next’ sustainable shoebox. With the “clever little bag”, Puma kicks-off the next pivotal phase of its’ sustainability program.  The tens of millions of shoes shipped in the bag will reduce water, energy and diesel consumption on the manufacturing level alone by more than 60% per year. In other words: approximately 8,500 tons less paper consumed, 20 million Megajoules of electricity saved, 1 million liters less fuel oil used and 1 million liters of water conserved. During transport 500,000 liters of diesel is saved and lastly, by replacing traditional shopping bags the difference in weight will save almost 275 tons of plastic.
Good concept, nice design! It’s always good to re-think the way we make things. And the next step would be if the bag could be the source for a new product.

CK augmented reality

Here’s an augmented reality web campaign of  Calvin Klein (I think it was in collaboration with GQ magazine). And I’ve tried it and it worked. It’s a little ‘blocky’ and it’s clearly a technology in progress. Watch the demo video and you get the idea. Or try it out you’re self, the website will explain you how. You also gonna need a webcam.
