A social media layer over real life

Because people are a social specie, the online social media is the internet catch-up on real life. But wouldn’t be fun if the online info would be a sort of an augmented reality layer over real life? And wouldn’t it be cool if smartphone and multitouch behavior could be integrated in real life? See how that works out in the music video of French rap duo  Toxic Avenger.

CK augmented reality

Here’s an augmented reality web campaign of  Calvin Klein (I think it was in collaboration with GQ magazine). And I’ve tried it and it worked. It’s a little ‘blocky’ and it’s clearly a technology in progress. Watch the demo video and you get the idea. Or try it out you’re self, the website will explain you how. You also gonna need a webcam.

Augmented Reality #1

One of the big trends in technology to watch is augmented reality. Basically it’s a merge of virtual computer generated imagery and the real word, real time. It’s the merge of the virtual and digital world.
In the future you will see more reports on this subject on this blog.

One nice example is this one. We’ve seen projections on buildings before. But this on cerates a whole new reality on the surface.
